Chapter 21: Lucien
Darkness…
Ines' head felt like it was filled with rocks and thrown into a river.
A deep, throbbing pain settled at the back of her skull. She tried to move, but her limbs wouldn't cooperate.
"Uh…" A muffled sound escaped her lips—something was covering her mouth.
Panic surged through her veins like a gasoline set on fire.
Her eyes were blurry, the world shifted like a broken kaleidoscope.
The air was damp, and the scent of leather and sweat filled her nose.
She was in a car…and it was moving.
Her breathing picked up. She was kidnapped!!!
The voices in the front of the car were laughing, casual, as if they hadn't just snatched her in the middle of a damn boxing match.
"Diego will be pleased," one man chuckled.
Her father.
'Of course…'
"You sure we're getting a good reward for this?" another voice, younger, more nervous, spoke up.
"Idiot, of course we are. Diego's been looking for a way to get and control her. Now he's got it."
