Chapter 24: Hidden
Lucian had just finished ordering his men to clear the warehouse when he thought he could finally relax—leave him and Ines alone to continue their business.
Lucian was still wearing that smug, and had just finished speaking with his men when an unexpected sound at the warehouse entrance made him stiff.
The heavy rumble of a car engine approaching broke the tense silence.
Lucian's eyes narrowed as he heard the door open.
He wasn't expecting anyone. He glanced quickly around the room and barked, "Hide her! Now!"
One of his henchmen immediately grabbed Ines and dragged her behind a large, overturned metal cabinet.
Her red eyes widened as she was shoved into the dark recesses, her heart pounding like a frantic drum in her chest.
Ines tried to scramble away, but rough hands held her down.
Before she could protest, the door opened again, and a familiar person stepped inside.
Raphael walked into the warehouse with a glare.
He was on edge.
