Chapter 25 - Be Open To Each Other

For two days Seira helped Harvey to do everything while he was still injured. Like changing his clothes, and bringing food to his room.

"I want you to focus on Harvey's health first. I want you to help him while he is sick. How can you ignore some of the chores around the house when his health is the most important," Leonard said.

"Leonard is right, Harvey's health takes precedence over everything else. If he moves too much, I'm afraid his wounds will be difficult to heal. So I want you to help him during his recovery," Albert added.

Even so, she still did other chores around the house. She knew it was more tiring than usual, but she couldn't let Harvey do things alone while he was still in such a bad state.

"Good morning, I'll help you to change your clothes today Lord Harvey," she said while carrying a container of water.

Harvey closed his book and nodded. "Alright."

He let Seira help him undress, then wiped his body with a clean towel. Before she finally treated the wound on his back, and dressed him again.

This also made them spend more time together, and talk about several things including what was happening around Imperial.

Including quite personal things as they eventually began to open up to each other.

"When I was little, I always dreamed of becoming a knight in this Empire. Killing only for justice, and doing nothing more than for the good of many people," Harvey said.

He went on to say that since he was 9 years old, he had no one else but Dominic. Dominic was a close friend of his father, as his father was one of the commander's troops.

"My mother died when she gave birth to me, and all this time my father continued to raise me. Until he died in the war and Dominic was always there for me," he explained.

"He must have been like everything to you after that," said Seira who felt quite sorry for him.

Of course, Harvey considered Dominic like his own father. That man had also taught him many things, including being a knight so that he could be what he was today.

But unfortunately, he also had to lose Dominic when he was 15 years old. And at that time he was just starting to enter the real world of knights, a world where he really needed direction from Dominic as his mentor. But that man had to leave him forever.

The look in his eyes turned into pain, as Seira realized that Harvey had truly lost someone precious to him.

'Albert and Leonard have also said that since Dominic's death, Harvey has become very introverted until he became the man he is today. He was actually a very warm and friendly person before,' Seira thought.

'You must have lost him terribly, I know how it feels to lose someone precious to us all these years. It feels like the world is shattered, and it's hard to get back," she said.

"You're right, it does hurt. But if it hadn't happened, we wouldn't be who we are today. Pain sometimes makes us much stronger."

Seira was silent when their conversation finally stopped. She seemed to be thinking of something to say to him, but she was still hesitant to do so. She was worried that the move she chose was wrong but if she didn't try it, she wouldn't know if this move was right or not.

Harvey realized that Seira had been silent all this time, he then turned to her and asked her why she had been silent all this time.

"If there's really something you want to talk about, just tell me."

After gathering her courage, and also the decision to be made. Seira finally opened her mouth again and looked at Harvey seriously.

"What if I told you that the death of Lord Dominic and the previous Empress was not because they were caught having an affair and sentenced to death. But because there was another motive there," Seira asked.

"What do you mean? Do you know anything about it?" asked Harvey again while squinting his eyes.

She nodded, she was sure that the death sentence that Dominic and the old Empress had gotten was a big mistake.

"They were deliberately eliminated, so that someone could ascend the throne. More precisely, they were intentionally eliminated to get rid of the late Empress and made Lord Dominic the scapegoat as well," she replied.

Harvey felt that what Seira said could have happened, maybe that was the truth. Because all this time he was sure that Dominic had never once flirted or tried to get close to the Empress. Especially until he heard that Dominic and Empress were caught making love.

"I never believed all that from the start. I knew there must be something going on. And if what you're saying is true, doesn't that mean they did it on purpose by accusing someone innocent?"

Seira nodded her head again. "Yes, I'm sure that the two of them are Innocent who were deliberately eliminated by the Imperials. Or one of them who really wants to take over the Imperial just for her and her descendants so that they can lead the Imperials one day," she explained.

"And where are you so sure about that? Didn't you say that you came from a village quite far from the palace?" he asked.

Seira walked over to him, standing by his bed.

"Because during that incident, I was there. I was there when all the chaos happened. And I am sure that the late Empress and Lord Dominic were very good people."

"Then what makes you sure of that? Have you ever met them?"

"Have you heard that the previous Empress once gave birth to a daughter? But she disappeared after her death sentence," the red-haired woman asked.

Harvey was silent for a moment, remembering that he had indeed heard that before. But since there was no trace of the princess that was said to have existed, he thought that it was just a rumor. Because the existence of the princess seemed to be erased from the Imperial bloodline.

He then looked back into her eyes, and realized that the look in Seira's eyes was just like someone he knew. The same eye color of green, belonging to the Imperial leader at that time.

"So you're actually..."

"That's right, I'm Seraphine Elmera Vanscota..." Seira replied firmly.

"...The princess they abolished from the Imperial bloodline."
