CHAPTER 3
Her brother started nagging her with text messages and calls. She replied to him that she'd ring him up when they finally reached the place.
After a few more minutes, they stopped as the guard inspected their car before they were allowed to get inside the academy gate.
Kaisha opened her side of the window as she roamed her eyes.
St. Vincent Academy was the most elite school in the country. Not all could enter unless they were from a very influential family or smart individuals from the scholarship it offered. It ranges from primary to tertiary level. And this was the tertiary campus, as the other levels were at another branch location.
Their SUV stopped in one of the buildings. One of their men opened the door for her, and the others followed, bringing shopping bags in their hands.
People glanced her way and started to gossip about who she was, and she looked familiar. Of course, she looked familiar because she had been at the academy before. She was mostly the center of attention back then for her outstanding beauty. And it seemed like she might get the title back, as she had just gotten more beautiful.
Two ladies quickly stepped up in her direction, but the guards blocked them before they could come in close.
She recognized one of them.
"What are you doing? That's headmistress Stella." She chided the guards. They apologized quickly and stepped out of the way.
"Miss McLarren! We're so glad to have you back." Stella greeted her enthusiastically as she reached for her hand and clasped it with both hands. "Your father called to say that he couldn't make it today. I completely understood. So here I am, personally welcoming you back to the Academy. And, by the way, this is Gemma, my assistant."
"Hello, Miss McLarren. I finally got to meet you. And as for what the rumors say, it was true that you are such a beauty and you look elegant." Gemma offered a hand to her.
She struggled to straighten her face from the word 'elegant.'. She knew that the woman was sucking up to her on her good side. She didn't mind, though. As long as she wouldn't bother her with any favors from her family and connections. That was why she decided to limit her interaction with people also. That was what most everybody wanted from her.
"Let's go to my office first. Gemma, please take these gentlemen to her dorm so they can settle her belongings."
The assistant took her bodyguards away, but two of them stayed by her side.
"Don't worry, she's safe inside the academy." She turned to them as they entered her office at the other building.
Yeah. Because it was the academy that wasn't safe from her. She wanted to laugh at that, but that would be weird with the headmistress around or anyone. She already got shocked looks from the students that could be familiar with her before or were just struck by her beauty. She couldn't care less because she intended to lay low as much as possible.
She sat at one of the chairs in front of her table as Stella stood behind her desk. She fixed her eyeglasses on the bridge of her nose.
"Miss McLarren, for the head start, you have your own dorm room in the Procyon Hall. Here's your room card and the number." She laid the keycard, school map, and a brochure on the table. "There were changes in the academy, as you could see from the new buildings and areas renovated, so we provided a map for you. I'll start with a quick briefing of the rules." Then Stella goes on and on.
Kaisha wanted to get the briefing done because she was hungry, and anytime her stomach would grumble. And thoughts of her eating a person were becoming more welcoming. She shook her head at such a despicable idea. But it was true. Her mouth started to salivate the longer she looked at the principal that was discussing school rules and instruction in front of her.
She swallowed hard and looked away. She didn't realize that beads of sweat were trickling down her neck and brows.
"Are you okay, Miss McLarren?" Stella halted in her briefing.
"You said it's just a quick briefing, but I'm already here for almost half an hour." She questioned and stood up.
The principal's mouth opened in surprise at her temper.
"I'm famished. I could eat you alive." She grabbed the keycard and everything before she stormed out without saying anything else. She heard her apologize while she was reaching the door. She didn't look back at her. She just wanted to get away from anyone before she could follow up with actions in her words.
Just as she opened the door, she collided with someone that made her fall ass-hard on the floor. She gasped from the pain in her behind.
Everyone saw it. The headmistress, her bodyguards, and the two guys in front of her. Great. Fucking great start in the academy, and she was already in pain.
She looked up, and she felt her pulse quicken upon seeing two gorgeous male specimens. And her mouth watered more than ever. She didn't look at them as potential partners. No. It was how the beast in her would be satisfied if she'd chew on them.
She once asked her father if it was normal that she had thoughts of eating people. He answered that it wasn't. Because they were bound to protect them with the form, not to put them in their stomach. Then she kept it shut that she was having thoughts of it. That was why she wanted to avoid getting hungry. But she tried to push her limits sometimes to train herself in control of her urges.
There was something wrong in her beast. It wasn't normal, like what her father had before. She had the horns, which he didn't have when he was still able to transform. But he said that it came in different forms in each generation. It was very different now because she had it. A daughter had it.
The dark-haired guy with ocean blue eyes stared down at her. "Excuse us, are you just going to sit there all day? Please kindly move to the side. You're blocking the way." His piercing gaze bore on her like she was trash on the floor.
Her eyes turned to slits as her hands clenched, and she helped herself up. Looks like this guy was really asking to be chewed alive.
