Julio was beginning to feel like he would stay here for a really long time as Mandy had so many people at his place. It was already night and the crowd of kids that were around the area were doing him no good at this point. So much so that he decided that it would be best for him to leave for now. There was a body to get rid of in his bedroom.
He turned his car around in the night and just drove off, back to the motel. He was really having his mind worried but then as he arrived, the manager was not around which made him feel a lot better as he started going back to his room. There were sounds of moaning which proved that everyone had gone right back to their business at this point. Only the room beside his own was quiet and the entrance marked off with yellow tapes. He got into his room now and he looked around for something to take the body out with when his eyes fell on the bedspread. He brought it down and then put it on as he wrapped it up.
Clearly, he did not want to leave anything looking dirty. Next, he draped it over his shoulder and was soon going out. He was already getting close to the reception when he heard her voice.
"There are no available rooms." She said to someone.
"Okay." Was the response.
He waited for sometime. By now, he was getting worried that he would be caught when he heard her go away and started to go out quickly.
The coast was clear and now, he had the body in the back of the truck. There was a trampoline of the sorts there that he unfolded and covered the body with as he started driving out. He was just about to reverse when he saw her, the silly manager waving excitedly at him. So as not to incur any suspicions, he stopped and highlighted.
"Hey, I didn't know you were back. Where are you going?" She asked him.
"Meeting." Julio responded.
"Oh, I see. Well, what about that dinner you promised me?" She asked him.
"When I return." He responded, as he was already irritated by her presence. One thing was already ticking at the back of his mind, he would send her home before he leaves here.
"Okay and when is that?" She asked him.
"I don't know." He responded.
"A man of lesser words, eh? Alright. I will be waiting for you to return." She responded and then blew him a kiss.
Julio returned to the car and slammed the door of the truck as he started driving away. This time, he did not take the direction that he had used but the opposite one which he did not really know. He just kept driving straight and ahead nonstop until he came out to what resembled an old bridge. There were no cars around this place for now and so, he came down and opened the trampoline. He then threw the body over the bridge before going back around and making the turn.
A car passed his own as he turned but it did not stop which seemed safe enough.
Julio drove back this time, he had Mandy at heart and he was definitely going to complete the job he had been given. As he arrived, there were fewer youths but the sign clearly read 'CLOSED.'
This was his chance and he decided to seize it. He got off the truck and then went to try the handle of the door, sadly, it was locked.
"Dammit. I should have waited." He muttered under his breath as he started to turn away angrily when he heard voices coming from the side.
It was some sort of garage door and there was a little light showing from the thin opening. Julio smiled and then started walking there as he listed.
"You know the don said to distribute all that as soon as possible. We cannot afford to get in trouble with him." Someone said,
"Well, how about you walk around the Streets, hawking stuff since you're so capable." This time, it was Mandy.
"Fine but I heard his daughter was here again, you know very well that we cannot keep selling her that stuff. He'll find out and he will get us for it." The other man said.
Noq, Julio's eyes widened. They knew Pedro Picasso definitely and he was even curious. He needed them mostly alive, at least one of them alive. Well, he best get back to business and was already reaching for the down of the door when another person spoke.
"There are seventy five packs left. That's a lot." The other voice said.
"I know. Doesn't matter. We'll do our best." Mandy responded.
Alright, three then.
Julio suddenly grabbed the handle and it went up easily, like it weighed nothing as he stepped inside. All of them had been startled as they turned to look at him. He entered then closed the door shut as he had met it. All with one hand.
"Someone you know, Mandy?" The one that had been speaking first asked.
"No, Manuel. Just some fool with a death wish that came to my store." Mandy said as he reached for the gun hidden in the back of his clothes.
"Wouldn't the gun make noise? Cops prowl around this area after all." The other guy asked him and he smiled.
"Well, I guess it's three to one. Hey yo! Bring it on!" Mandy said as he got ready to attack.
Julio was really calm. Somehow, this did not bother nor scare him at all. In fact, it felt like he had gotten into a lot of fights before and his next reaction told him that he had done that a lot too as he calmly took off his suit jacket. Folded it and kept it in a crate beside him.
"Hey Mandy, you got yourself a pretty boy." Manuel said as he grabbed a crowbar.
It was the third guy who first charged at him while he was still getting ready to loosen his tie which made him start reacting really fast. His response was swift as the other guy lunged at him and he sidestepped the blow coming his way and at the same time, took a swipe at the back of his opponent's head with the back of his hand. The effect pushed the other guy to hit his face against the pack of crates and he fell.
Just then, Manuel attacked with the crowbar, forcing Julio to start dodging his onslaughts. It was not even easier when Mandy himself was already attacking him with a stick. It was hard fending off and also trying to get their weapons.
He kept trying his best when his hand caught the crowbar and just as he was about to pull it away, Mandy hit him on the head with the stick.
They were all waiting for him to react but he felt no pain at all. Come on, he was a dead man who survived a shotgun for crying out loud.
He was already indestructible.
"Oh my god, what are you?" Mandy muttered.
"Shoot him, fool!" Manuel yelled just as Julio smacked him hard across the face with the crowbar. He fell and had already lost a couple of teeth.
It was now him against Mandy who was blindly hitting with the stick. He just wasted time to defend himself when Julio caught the stick, pulled him close and hit him at some spot he recognised.
BANG!
Someone had shot him in the back. He had totally forgotten about the other guy from earlier. And he knew on some other grounds, that would have been a fatal mistake. He let the unconscious Mandy fall to the ground as he turned to face the young man who had shot him.
Without hesitation, he started going after him when someone caught his legs.
It was Manuel.
"Run, Jorge." He cried out.
Jorge dropped the gun and tried to run away but Julio already kicked Manuel in the face, sending him rolling to his side as he went after the young man that was struggling to open the garage door. He had just started raising it when Julio caught him by his legs and drew him down, causing him to slam his face again.
He shut the door again and started pulling him back.
"Help! Somebody!" This was Jorge but Julio turned, glaring at him as he came down before him.
"No one's going to save you." He said as he knocked him out.
Now, it was just the now bleeding Manuel still conscious and he came to squat in front of him.
"Listen man, please. I didn't do anything to you. I can pay you. Lots of money." Manuel said through broken teeth and bleeding mouth.
"Not about money." Julio said and knocked him out.
It was time to set up for the interrogation and he noticed some chairs stock piled at the corner as he pulled one out to join the three already available.
He brought three chairs together then dragged the three men on them with their backs against each other. This place provided him a rope too which he used to securely tie them down.
Next, he pulled the other seat for himself as he came to sit down where he would be visible to at least two of them, gun in hand and patiently waiting. It will be a long night. But he had the time because he was curious.
