Chapter 10 - AN ENCOUNTER WITH A PICASSO

Humans, they always had their way of making light of the error of their ways but that was not the thing he wanted at this time. He just had the mind to want to do his research with hopes that he would find something. The store owner had already stood up for him and was already asking him if he needed anything else.

"I mean, a handsome bud like yourself, you probably need a drink or something?" The man asked him.

"No. I just need my peace and quiet." He responded.

"Of course, everyone needs that when working and I definitely would let you have your space. Although, I was hoping to interest you on some laptops we have here in the store. They are for sale and I believe they will serve you well." The store owner said

A laptop, it was as if everything he knew about this world only comes up when he sees something related to that. Of course he knew what a laptop was and how it functioned. That was going to be even better.

"May I see this laptop afterwards?" He demanded. He had already started imputing his name in the search option.

"Of course. That would be great. You know you have to hurry up, I use that laptop for my job." The store owner responded.

Julio started from himself. He needed to be able to grasp something about himself that would help him. He searched and then, it started coming up. There was one search result and it was not really helpful.

His name and picture was there. It looked exactly like him and there was the title 'consigliere demon.'

Wait, why was there a post about him referring to him as a demon? Julio tried to see if there would be more but as blank as his memory was, somehow, the search was also empty. He felt really angry and it was time for him to look into the new name. He started punching in the letters.

'PEDR...'

"And it's time up. I need to use my computer." The store owner said to him,

"I'm still using it." He responded firmly.

"Yeah, whatever. Where's the money for this time and also, you need to let me work. I already offered to get you a laptop." The store owner responded.

"Then go get it. I'll pay you your money." Julio responded.

Smiling all over, the owner decided to go get it. He was finally going to make some money off the shipment that he had gotten as he had been into this criminal group who stole gadgets from people and then passed them onto others for cool cash. Since the last two days, he had made no sales and now, he was hoping to believe that he had found what he was looking for.

While he was gone, Julio did not stop what he was working with. He searched for the name and then, it came up. Finally, something to give him insight.

The Pedro Picasso man was a renowned philanthropist who cared a lot about people and although many rumours were speculating how dangerous he was, everyone had his praise to sing. This did not feel right to Julio as he was beginning to wonder why on earth he would want to pursue an innocent man. He certainly was not crazy or he might have feared unless there was something underneath.

Just then, he was distracted as the door to the store opened and in walked a young woman. She looked his way and then scowled.

"Where's Mandy at?" She demanded.

Julio did not care to answer as he returned his gaze to what he was doing. This attitude and response made her really pissed as she approached the desk.

"You know, Sir, it's common courtesy to respond to people asking you questions?" She asked him.

"Is that so?" He asked her and then continued what he was doing.

"Yes. If you're now working here instead of Mandy, you really should know how this place works. I mean, you're here in your suit and tie, this place doesn't embrace that dressing. You wear polos and joggers to a place like this." She said to him,

Now, her perky voice was beginning to get him really angry and he looked up at her. He folded his arms across his chest as he regarded her for some time.

"You want your Mandy, he's coming." He responded and tried to return to his work when Mandy returned.

"Ah, Mona Lisa, come to grace us with your presence? What can old boy Mandy do for you?" He asked her as he dropped the laptop he was with and then took her hands in his as he kissed the back of both her hands.

Lisa was already angry at the fact that this strange man at his office made a fool of her. She was so pissed that she withdrew her hands to herself.

"So, Mandy you're in here and your new worker is insulting me?" She demanded.

Mandy sure as hell was confused and then he looked at Julio who was snickering at this point and he could tell that something had definitely occurred between them.

"Ah, non. Not at all. He's a customer. I came to get something." Mandy said.

"And you let your customers go through your computer? Do you know how many people's information is stored there?" Lisa demanded.

"Come on, Lisa. The poor guy needed to do research and I let him out of the goodness of my heart but if you're scared of your information being leaked, don't worry, I don't use this for you. You're a good business. So tell me, what do you want?" He asked her.

"Well, I don't appreciate him being here. He's rude. Get rid of him." She said as she started leaving.

"Where are you going?" Mandy asked her.

"I'll be back when he's gone." She said and left. Shortly after, her car pulled away into the road and zoomed off.

Mandy did not want to lose her business but he also wanted to make more money. So, he had to finish this deal.

"What did you say to piss her off so much, dude?" He asked Julio.

"Nothing really. She came at me with her sentiments. I merely ignored it. Is that the laptop?" Julio demanded.

"Best of its kind." Mandy said as he came to bring it in front of him. "See, very sleek."

"No. This isn't anything. Don't bring that bullshit crap. I know my computers." Julio responded but at the back of his mind, he was wondering where from.

"Fine. But are you taking it or not? You better make up your mind." Mandy said, his greedy eyes flashing now.

Julio had no time to banter or do long talks. He reached the back of his pocket and then brought out some notes, after counting out some, he dropped it in front of Mandy. That should be more than enough, he believed.

"Are you kidding me? This is a very poor amount for this laptop. You gotta do better than that if you want it." He said to Julio, eyes twinkling.

"Fine." Julio said and added one more.

"Are you fucking kidding me? After costing me the business of Lisa Picasso herself, you're expecting that I would take that shit? That hasn't even been covered when you used my internet." Mandy retorted. Actually, he was trying to play smart as he had this feeling that a lot of these things were new to the man before him.

"Did you say Picasso?" Julio demanded.

"Yes. Wait, don't you really know her? Lisa Picasso? The one and only daughter of Pedro Picasso? You're joking, right?" Mandy demanded.

"Where does she live?" Julio demanded.

"Get out of my store you wacko if you're not going to buy the laptop. You think you're the only idiot who has tried bagging her, turns out she's into cops that I would be calling on you now." Mandy threatened.

Julio really wanted to know this lady some more but clearly, Mandy was not willing to cooperate with him. He also was not feeling like being cheated. So, he stood up and then started packing back the money when Mandy stopped him.

"What do you think that you're doing with my money?" Mandy demanded.

"It's not yours." Julio responded.

"Actually, Mandy says it's his. You better step right now." He said to Julio.

This man was really annoying and Julio was more interested in knowing who the lady was. He decided to go find another place and then started leaving as Mandy called him names and was threatening him some more.

Just when he would grab the door's handle, he suddenly stopped.

[Task updated. Tap yes to see what it is]

The system suddenly came to life. And Julio tapped.

What Mandy however was seeing was a crazy man touching the air.

"Oh, you're gonna act crazy now, is it? Try to play me? I'll show you crazy." Mandy said threateningly.

[Yes]

[Kill Mandy. Get laptop]
